Hi ECF, I'm not new to rebuilding but I am new to the DNA200 and SS wire. I started playing with it yesterday, built a dual 12 wrap 316L, 2.5mm ID, .38 ohms in an RDA and running it at 450F and 35 watts. I'm having 2 problems with it. First, within a second or two of hitting the button, the Temperature Protection message comes on.
Building on SS wire, here's my second build It's 28g 316 ss, 6 or 7 wraps, 0.6ohm. Interestingly I'm in the same boat just starting with 316L, I built my first coils yesterday in a Velocity and figuring out what I like too. I've been ranging between 240-300c on 6 wrap 24/32 claptons and find the temp control really obviously kicks in on my RX200 - it takes a little ramp, then I get a nice warm thick vape, and then it throttles hard and cools it off.

Your time at temperature will depend on your thickness but generally isn't that long; just long enough for carbides to be in solution (few minutes). Austenitic SS is not hardened by quenching (air or water) but can be hardened by cold working.
